Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get my website?

Once I have received ALL of your content including photos, I’ll have your website done within five business days.

Design is not something pretty to dump words into. Good design is created around the content being used, for best results. I don’t know what you need designed until I have all of the content and know what the photos look like, etc.

My promised completion time does not start until I have everything in hand. Having worked in design and marketing for nearly 40 years off and on, in my experience, the hardest, longest part of any design project is waiting around for content.

Because I’m blessing you with a great price, and fast turn around, I’m only asking for everything I need up front to make my job easier.

A domain name is purchased through a domain registrar such as Godaddy or Cloudflare. This will be billed annually. When purchasing a domain name, it’s best to use a name that is easy to remember and easy to spell, to avoid any confusion.

Only if you want it. I am able to host your website on my servers for just $30 a month, including basic maintenance (keeping your website up-to-date and functioning well).  I’m offering this to you to help you get started as easily as possible.

I am able to host and maintain your website for an additional $30 per month. However, if you’d prefer to host the website yourself, I will be happy to help with monthly maintenance for $25 per month.

The website will be built in WordPress. If you are hosting your own website, you can log in and make updates based on your technical skills. If you have me hosting it, I’ll make minor updates for you as part of your hosting and maintenance package. Any larger structural updates will need to be quoted based on the time involved. If you are hosting your own site, and would help help with updates, I’m happy to give you a quote for that.

You do! If you ever want a backup of your site, or for your site to be moved to another web host, I’m happy to help you with that. I do not own any of your stuff.

WordPress is what I primarily work in, and what I’m most comfortable in. I have a few clients with Wix websites, or Shopify and Squarespace, and I can make VERY MINOR updates to the sites, but I do not create sites on those platforms from scratch. I prefer to stick with my skill set, instead of learning something new.

If you need a reliable website person for a different platform of your choice, let me know. I keep a list of current references.

No. Designing, creating, making – those are the FUN parts of life. I’d be down for using AI to do my dishes, laundry, or other housework though.

I’m happy to talk through any questions. But your site is built around one specific goal: getting you booked, using current best practices for how event planners actually evaluate a speaker’s page.

Friends, Family, and AI feedback tools don’t have that context, and their suggestions sometimes may unintentionally work against your success. If that happens, I’ll walk you through the reasoning behind the design choice rather than making the change.

Keeping the site focused on that one goal is part of what this price point is built around.
